Ballet Early Education

We offer classes for skill levels that range from beginner through professional. Wildwood Dance and Arts ballet program is truly an American blend taking the best of respected classical techniques; such as Vaganova (Russian), Balanchine (American), and Cecchetti (Italian). Our 8 year program is centered in the Vaganova Method of training that follows a definitive progression through each lesson. Repetition is an integral part to learning ballet technique. Each level builds upon the elements previously presented. It is not uncommon for students to be in the same level for multiple years.

Munchkin Movement: “Creative Movement” program for 2-3 years old. Creative Movement is a joyful way for children to explore movement through music, develop physical skills, channel energy, stimulate imagination and promote creativity. Creative movement uses body actions to: communicate an image (the wind), communicate an idea (a journey), or communicate a feeling (strength). Our program provides children with opportunities for noncompetitive, success-oriented and creative experiences. (30 minutes in length)

Pre-Ballet I, II and III: This is an introduction to basic ballet movements focusing on coordination, musicality, and rhythm. Introduction to the basic feet and arm positions of ballet technique begin here, and are fostered through game, story, and imagery in the classroom. They provide building blocks for traditional and more formal ballet training later on. These classes are available to children 3-4 yrs, 5-7yrs, and 8-10yrs respectively. (45 minutes in length)
