Tap Levelled Classes

Tap I: Designed for 8 and up. This class will build on the concepts introduced in Pre-Tap and Combo classes, focusing on an expanded terminology vocabulary, musicality, and memorization. Emphasis will begin to focus on staying together as a group and learning stage elements such as upstage, downstage, stage right, stage left, audience, etc. Basic time steps will be introduced. This class may be repeated several times.

Tap II: Designed for students 9 and up. This class will expand on the concepts introduced in Tap I. Students will expand their tap vocabulary while mastering more complex combinations. Turns and more upper body involvement will be emphasized along with increases in speed. Time steps will be expanded on and "tricks" introduced such as wings, pull backs, and toe stands.

Tap III: Designed for students 10 and up. This class will expand on the concepts introduced in Tap II. Students will expand their tap vocabulary while mastering more complex rhythms and combinations in various styles of tap including rhythms tapping and Broadway style tap. The ability to communicate character and style will be stressed. Combinations will be taught faster and with greater detail to help with audition technique preparation. Choreography exercises will be used throughout the course of the class. Time steps and "tricks" will be expanded on.
